I kept trying to explain why we needed to learn from home, and dug myself deeper into a hole every time. Once I knew the legal solution existed, the whole conversation with the school changed.

No. Works whether you're seeing early warning signs or already deep into a fight.
This is in English — will it still work if I write or live in another language?
Yes. You'll need enough English to read the guide itself; that part doesn't change. But the actual work doesn't have to happen in English. Add one line to any prompt, "Respond in Swedish" (or French, or whatever you use), and the AI does the rest in your language, translating not just the words but the cultural nuance between where you're from and where you live now.
